 FrontPage 2002 - Apply a theme

1 Choose what you want to do:

a: Apply a theme to the current page

In Page view, open the page to which you want to apply a theme.
On the Format menu, click Theme.
In the list of themes, click the theme you want to apply.
A preview is displayed under Sample of Theme.

To apply the default theme setting of the web site (if there is one), click Default at the top of the list.

NOTE:  After you apply a theme to the current page, the page no longer uses the default theme setting of the web site (if there is one). Therefore, any theme changes you apply to the web site will not affect this page.

b: Apply a theme to selected pages

In Folder view, select the pages you want to apply a theme to.

How?

To select multiple pages, hold down CTRL and click the pages you want to select.

On the Format menu, click Theme.
Click Selected pages.
In the list of themes, click the theme you want to apply. A preview is displayed under Sample of Theme.
To apply the default theme setting of the web site (if there is one), click Default at the top of the list.

NOTE:  If you apply theme settings to individual pages, these pages no longer use the default theme setting of the web site (if there is one). Therefore, any theme changes you apply to the web site will not affect these pages.

c: Apply a theme to a web site

On the Format menu, click Theme.
Click All pages.
In the list, click the theme you want to apply.
A preview is displayed under Sample of Theme.

NOTE:  When you apply a theme to an entire web site, FrontPage will display a warning indicating that you are setting the default theme for that site.

2 Select any of the following check boxes to set the appearance of the theme:

:: Vivid colours

To use a bright colour set, select the Vivid colours check box. To use the normal colour set, clear this check box.

:: Active graphics

To use a more elaborate and lively set of banners, buttons, bullets, and other graphical elements, the Active Graphics check box is selected by default; to use the normal graphic set, clear the check box.

The active graphic set uses animated page elements, such as hover buttons instead of plain buttons on link bars. Some theme elements do not contain any active graphics, so this option may not be available.

:: Background picture

The Background picture check box is selected by default. If you don't want to use it for your theme, clear the check box.

:: Apply using CSS

To have Microsoft FrontPage apply a theme as a cascading style sheet and link it to the page (rather than change the actual HTML of the page), select the Apply using CSS check box.
To change the page's HTML code to apply the theme, clear this check box.

NOTE: Not all browsers display CSS formatting correctly.
