Change the graphics used in a theme:

1 On the Format menu, click Theme.
2 In the list, click the theme you want to modify.
3 Click Modify, and then click Graphics.
4 In the Item box, select the graphical element you want to change.
5 Next to Theme graphic set, specify whether you want to change graphics in the normal or active set.
The active graphic set uses animated page elements, such as hover buttons instead of plain buttons on link bars.

NOTE:  Some theme elements do not contain any active graphics, so this option may not be available.

6 Click the Picture tab.
7 Specify the picture or pictures you want to use — depending on the element you selected, one or more options are displayed. For example, for Bullet List, you can specify three different bullets.
To find the graphic in the current web site or file system, click Browse.
If the graphical element you selected displays text, the options on the Font tab will be available and you can change the font.
8 Repeat steps 4 through 7 for each graphical element you want to change.
9 Click OK.
10 Click Save As.
11 Type a new name for the theme (unless you have modified a custom theme), and then click OK.

NOTE:  When you modify a preset theme, you must save your changes to a new theme; you cannot overwrite a preset theme.


Change the styles used in a theme:

1 On the Format menu, click Theme.
2 In the list, click the theme you want to modify.
3 Click Modify, and then click Text.
4 In the Item box, click the item for which you want to change the style.
5 Under Font, click the font you want to use.
To view other options for changing the theme's style by using cascading style sheets as an inline style, click More Text Styles.

6 Repeat steps 4 and 5 for each item you want to change.
7 Click OK.
8 Click Save As.
9 Type a new name for the theme (unless you have modified a custom theme), and then click OK.

N0TE:  When you modify a preset theme, you must save your changes to a new theme; you cannot overwrite a preset theme.


Change the colour scheme of a theme:

1 On the Format menu, click Theme.
2 In the list of themes, click the theme for which you want to change colours.
3 Click Modify, and then click Colours.
4 Next to Theme colour set, specify whether you want to change colours in the normal or vivid colour set.
5 Do one of the following:

a Choose a preset colour scheme

1 Click the Colour Schemes tab.
2 Select the colour scheme you want to use.

b Create a new colour scheme

1 Click the Colour Wheel tab.
2 Create a custom colour scheme you want to use, and then click OK.

6 Click Save As to save the modified theme.
7 Type a new name for the theme (unless you have modified a custom theme), and then click OK.

NOTE: When you modify a preset theme, you must save your changes to a new theme; you cannot overwrite a preset theme.


Change the colour of a theme element:

1 On the Format menu, click Theme.
2 In the list of themes, click the theme for which you want to change the element.
3 Click Modify, and then click Colours.
4 Next to Theme colour set, specify whether you want to change colours in the normal or vivid colour set.
5 Click the Custom tab.

6 Do one of the following:

a Choose an existing colour

1 In the Item box, click the item for which you want to change the colour.
2 In the Colour box, specify the colour you want to use.
3 Repeat these steps for each item for which you want to change the colour.
4 Click OK.

b Define a custom colour

1 In the Item box, click the item for which you want to change the colour.
2 Click the Colour box, and then click More Colours.

Do one of the following:

a Select a colour from a browser-safe palette

1 Click a colour, and then click OK.

b Specify a hexadecimal value

1 Type the value in the Value box (for example, type HEX={FF,33,00}), and then click OK.

c Select a colour on the screen

1 Click Select, use the Eyedropper to click the colour, and then click OK.
For example, to use a colour from a picture on an open page, click a colour on the picture.

d Create a colour average of the colours in a particular region on the screen

1 Click Select, use the Eyedropper to draw a box on the screen to specify the region, and then click OK.

e Select a different colour, or specify a combination for hue-saturation-luminosity or red-green-blue

1 Click Custom.
2 Under Custom Colours, click a blank box.
3 Define a colour by entering a combination of values or by selecting a colour from the colour matrix.
4 Click Add to Custom Colours, and then click OK until you return to the main Themes screen.

7 Click Save As

8 Type a new name for the theme (unless you have modified a custom theme), and then click OK.

NOTE: When you modify a preset theme, you must save your changes to a new theme; you cannot overwrite a preset theme.
