NOTE: I receive my MS FP Bulletin one month late, now I have found the http://microsoftfrontpage.com/ site, I will be able to post the bulletins sooner. However please note the bulletins one receives via subscription at MS are not the same format as the site bulletins and that the msfp site also contains other information. There is one other important point to note and that is the archives at microsoftfrontpage.com do not as far as back as these, so if you want to look back this is the place to do it! You can also obtain the bulletins as FREE E-books with your membership of AnyFrontPage Bytes.

SIMPLY HOVER ON COLLAPSIBLE OUTLINES TO EXPAND AND COLLAPSE THEM
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Article No: Q208644
This tip describes how you can make your collapsible outlines even easier to use - visitors to your Web site can just hover on the items in a collapsible outline to make them expand and collapse.  Here's how:
1. Create a collapsible outline as usual
2. Go to the HTML tab and find the following line of code:
<body onclick="dynOutline()">
3. Change the code so that it reads as follows:
<body onmouseover="dynOutline()" onclick="dynOutline()">
REMOVE UNDERLINING FROM A SINGLE OR ALL HYPERLINKS ON A PAGE
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Article No: Q240972

This tip describes how you can remove the underlining attribute from a single hyperlink on a page  or all of them.  Here's how to remove it from just one hyperlink:

1. Go to the HTML tab for the relevant page

2. Find the line of code that looks similar to the following:
<a href="http://www.hyperlink.com">underlinedhyperlink</a

3. Insert the style tag with the text decoration=none attribute after the anchor tag, so that your code looks similar to the following:
<a style="text-decoration: none"
href="http://www.hyperlink.com">nonunderlinedhyperlink</a>

4. Save the page

Here's how to remove the underline from all hyperlinks on a page:

1. Go to the HTML tab for the relevant page

2. Place the following HTML code before the <BODY> tag:
   <STYLE>
   A {text-decoration: none;}
</STYLE>

ADD A SCROLLING MESSAGE IN THE INTERNET EXPLORER STATUS BAR
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Article No: Q213872
This tip provides a sample FrontPage Java script that displays a custom, scrolling message in the Internet Explorer status bar.  Here's how:
1. Insert the following script into the <HEAD> section of your HTML Web page:
     <script Language="JavaScript">
    // Scrolling text string.
   var strText="This is a scrolling message!";
   // Length of the text
   var intText=strText.length;
   // Speed of the scroll
   var intSpeed=25;
   // Width of the scrolling area.
   var intWidth=100;
   var intPos=1-intWidth;
            function scroll()
            {
              // Initialize the string to be printed.
              intPos++;
              var strScroll="";
              // Move to the right in the string.
              if (intPos==intText)
              {
                // Start over if the string is done.
                intPos=1-intWidth;
              }
              // Scrolling
              if (intPos<0)
              {
              // Add spaces to beginning if necessary.
   for (var i=1; i<=Math.abs(intPos); i++)
                {
                  strScroll=strScroll+" ";
                }
                strScroll=strScroll+strText.substring(0, intWidth-i+1);
              }
              else
              {
              strScroll=strScroll+strText.substring(intPos,intWidth+intPos);
              }
              window.status = strScroll;
              setTimeout("scroll()", intSpeed);
            }
    </script>
2. Modify the <BODY> tag so that it looks like this:
<BODY onload="scroll()">
*** EDITING A SINGLE FRAME FROM WITHIN MICROSOFT INTERNET EXPLORER
*********************************************************
Many users of FrontPage may edit their Web pages from within Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 or later using the Edit button on the toolbar. When you try to do this with a frames-based page, however, FrontPage opens the entire frameset. To edit a specific frame, open the entire frameset page in FrontPage, right click in the frame you want to edit and then select the
"Open Page in New Window" option. FrontPage will then allow you to edit only the frame you want.
