NOTE: I receive my MS FP
Bulletin one month late, now I have found
the
http://microsoftfrontpage.com/ site, I
will be able to post the bulletins sooner.
However please note the bulletins one
receives via subscription at MS are not the
same format as the site bulletins and that
the msfp site also contains other
information. There is one other important
point to note and that is the archives at
microsoftfrontpage.com do not as far as back
as these, so if you want to look back this
is the place to do it! You can also obtain
the bulletins as
FREE E-books with your membership

colours and images on Web pages. It reviews such topics as background colour,
choosing the right graphic format for your images, and applying palettes. It's
well worth a look at the Web address above.

*** CREATE A FADING ROLLOVER EFFECT ***
***************************************
http://news.microsoft.co.uk/FP1508005941
You'll like the fading rollover effect if you're fed up with flashy animated
.gif files - the fade effect can add a subtle visual touch to your Web site by
changing an image as you hover over it with the mouse. You can create this
effect yourself by using Java language code with a series of images - just copy
and paste the Java script at the Web address above.

http://news.microsoft.co.uk/FP1508005942

http://news.microsoft.co.uk/FP1508005943
You've tested your Web site and found a host. Now you're ready to let the world
enjoy your work. One of the best ways to make people aware of your site is to
register with one or more search engines. Fortunately, registering your site is
easy, quick, and something you can do on the Internet. This article describes
how to register your site; the information you need to have ready, and how to
use <META> tags to help search engines provide information about your site
to their users.

*** SETTING THE NAME OF THE HOME PAGE ***
*****************************************
http://news.microsoft.co.uk/FP1508005944
You may have been surprised to see that when FrontPage creates a new web site,
the home page file is sometimes named Index.htm, and at other times is named
Default.htm. Why does FrontPage name this file for you? Can you name your home
page something besides Index or Default? Find out all the answers to these
questions in this very informative article.
